Christmas good and all that? Excellent.
Now, let's get down to making this New Year one to remember!

Over the next four days we'll be writing you a tip each day to help you make the most of your marketing and the most of your brand in 2012.

Todays Branding Tip: Branding Like Bond - The Pre-Title Sequence

In all Bond films, before the new theme tune lets rip, 007 runs about like a nutter in an action packed Pre-Title Sequence that sets out the stall before the main film begins.

The Pre-Title Sequence tells the audience everything they need to know. If you had no idea of the concept of James Bond within minutes you'd figure out he's ruthless, has a sense of humour, loves the ladies and although he's a bit of a git, you still like him.

So it should be with your brand - but you need to be even quicker!

Within 8 seconds any potential client visiting your website should be able to figure out what you do, the style in which you do it, and a basic idea of your personality, ethos and quirks - ideally what makes you different from everyone else.

Whether you do this by video (bloody good idea), photographically, text, it doesn't matter…make sure visitors have a clear understanding of your business, very, very quickly.

Perhaps pour yourself a Martini, (leave it out it's not even lunchtime ;)) dust off the gadgets and go, right now, and think about your Pre-Title Sequence.

Oh, and Happy New Year!
